The 15 amp fuse is to protect #14 gauge copper wire, 20 amp fuse protect #12 copper wire, and Any hole without a power indication corresponds to an open fuse directly behind the hole under test. You should always use the correct fuse size, however if you're in a bind you can use a 20 amp fuse...
Rob responded - Most cigarette lighters use about 8 amps, so a fuse of 12-15 amps would be about right. That should work for the mini heater too. I've never seen anything like this which draws more than 8 amps (100 watts). ~~~ Fuse Layout - 1967 through 1972 Standard Beetle . For example, Rob's "Bradley" (1968) and "Bertie" (1970)
Joe, In this case, one sub per amp looks best. For power, you'd run one fused (100A) 2- to 4-gauge wire from the battery to a distribution block. Then run fused (50A each) 4-gauge power wire to each amp. For signal, you can run RCAs to one amp and daisy-chain its preamp output to the other amp's input.
The typical rule of thumb that techs will usually go by is that when you have a 30 amp circuit breaker, 10-gauge wire is the right size to go with. For a 40 amp you need a 8-gauge wire size and for a 20 amp, you will need a 12-gauge wire size. The corresponding size for 60 amp is a wire gauge size 4, however there are certain important assumptions that that rule of thumb relies on – we will expand on those in the rest of this article.
The wire size chart below shows allowable ampacities of insulated conductors rated up to and including 2000 Volts, 60°C through 90°C (140°F through 194°F), not more than three current-carrying conductors in raceway, cable, or earth (directly buried), based on ambient air temperature of 30°C (86°F).
During an inspection you find 20 blown 15-amp fuses beside the panel. You might tell your client A) it's likely that there is at least one overloaded circuit in the panel. B) the 15 amp fuses should be replaced with a larger fuse size that will not blow. C) there must have been several defective fuses purchased, perhaps from one bad lot. D)
Feb 01, 2018 · If you were running a 20 amp load on 8 gauge wire, the max length you could run to reach the object would be 18.9'. As far as fuse sizing, you would want to run a fuse that is at least 1.25 times higher than the current in that circuit. With 20 amps you would run a 25 amp fuse.
The minimum size service conduit shall be 1-1/4”. The minimum size service entrance wire shall be rated 100 amperes minimum for single family dwellings. For single family homes, the service disconnect means shall have a rating of less than 100 amperes, 3-wire.
